The present world-financial system has long ceased to aid humanity.  It has been destroying it step by step, and has itself become highly unstable by the same process.  It needs to be taken down intelligently before it disintegrates, in order that the nations can be protected, that pensions can be saved, industries remain operational, food and energy supplies continue to be delivered, and social order be maintained.  In an uncontrolled global systemic disintegration of the entire world-wide financial conglomeration, nothing can be protected.

So it is, that the lives of countless millions hang in the balance in a world-political game that is currently run against the U.S. and China under the cover of protecting human rights.*(See EIR  April 11/97)

When Christ Jesus illustrated the natural manifestation of spirituality with his parable of the Samaritan, he failed to take into account the process that had caused the injury which the Samaritan addressed.  He simply said that a traveler had fallen among thieves and was left by the wayside nearly dead.  This man represents humanity.

Humanity is not quite at this point yet, nor can it be determined how many people will survive the anarchy when the world-financial disintegration should come about.  For those who may not survive the ensuing anarchy, the parable of the Samaritan is irrelevant.  Spirituality, therefore, must salvage the scene at the present stage, before the disintegration begins.  Unfortunately, there is little evidence of the existence of the required spirituality that will carry the day.

None can be found on the side of the Empire either, which aims to injure mankind under a cover of lies.  Nor can any spirituality be found in the public's reaction to the imperial game.  The initial reaction of the public has been to play along with the imperial game.  All the Empire's assets and stooges in legislatures and other organizations promote the Empire's game of destruction with great force, and no one counters them, except in some isolated cases.  Such a dramatic potential exposure to chaos renders the modern society fundamentally unfit for survival.

When Christ Jesus presented the face of spirituality by example and said "This do, and thou shalt live" he was evidently fully aware of what he was talking about.  The alert action of the Samaritan that he presented, was evidently an act of self-preservation.  Without building an environment of mutual support and protection, no one is safe.

In today's world the entire parable must be shifted forward a notch.  We cannot wait until the world financial and economic system disintegrates.  We need to address the injury of mankind that has already occurred, that began when the economic foundation for mankind was being demolished by escalating imperial demands and its ideologies, manifest in speculation, deindustrialization, and depopulation.  The Samaritan must address this injury if he is to address anything at all.  Unfortunately, whoever does this will find himself mostly alone, as society has chosen not to address itself to the problem, but has chosen to walk by on the other side.

In his exploration of the policies that have brought the world into the present era of free-trade slavery, deindustrialization, and economic and financial collapse, even to the point that the whole system is close to becoming unglued, Lyndon LaRouche has come to attribute the problem to the British Empire and its ideologies.  With this established, he aims to free mankind from the influence of this Empire by shutting it down, just like William von Wolzogen had managed to shut down Napoleon's invasion of Russia.  Indeed, this commitment is an essential element before any healing can begin, because before healing begins, the process of inflicting jury upon society must stops.  And still, more than this is needed.  In order to achieve this task, mankind must first heal itself, and reestablish its spirituality in order to bring itself into a horizontal relationship with its most advanced leadership, the only real leadership that really exists.
