The Third Dimension of Spirit - The Development of Science.

It was further pointed out in Volume 3 that Mary Baker Eddy's illustrated poem, Christ and Christmas, is made up of sixteen elements.  Thus it was recognized to uniquely identify the individual elements' characteristic.  It was also pointed out that the Glossary of Science and Health contains another 144 specific descriptors, which add up to exactly nine per element - and that the 9x16 dimension is metaphorically built into the construction of the crown in the last painting in Christ and Christmas.  It was subsequently realized, that a very unique construction can be created as an inner structure for each element, with nine definitions available, which cannot be created with any other number of definitions.  With nine building blocks so provided for the construction, a construction can be created that is made up of four horizontally arranged definitions that correspond to the general nature of the four rows of the matrix, and four vertically arranged definitions that correspond to the general nature of the four columns of the matrix.  This leaves us with one definition remaining, to stand as the central identifier for the element.  Appendix A1 illustrates this inner construction of an element and its relationship to the matrix.
